Bluebyrd are an indie folk rock duo based in the Midlands UK. Bluebyrd comprises of songwriter Chris Rowley on guitars and vocals, and Gareth Pask on keyboards.

 

Since their formation in 2017  they have played extensively in the Midlands and the North West, they have also been prominent players on the UK festival circuit where they have appeared at Audlem Festival, Alsager Music Festival, The Lymelight Festival, Leek Blues and Americana Festival, and Yewstock amongst others. 

2020 is also looking like a busy year for the duo as they prepare to revisit venues and festivals and will make their debut at Percy's Cafe Bar in February. Bluebyrd have also been named as the support act for international blues legend Alvin Youngblood Hart at the iconic Robin Hood 2 venue in April.

A lot of media interest has been generated by the band including articles in the Wolverhampton Express and Star, The Shropshire Star, Ryan's Gig Guide, A&R Factory, and many regional and community radio slots, as well as a session performed for BBC Radio Stoke.

         

 

 Bluebyrd's debut album 'Uneven Ground' was released to all the main digital platforms in the spring of 2018 to critical acclaim . Described by Ryan's Gig Guide as 'a stunning debut' and by A&R Factory as ‘Uneven Ground, a beautiful slice of modern acoustic folk raises issues in the way that folk music always has done… musically it is powerful…you have everything you need to hammer the point home.’

 

 

Towards the end of 2019 saw the release of their first single 'Song for the duped' from their forthcoming album 'Find Your Way'.  This biting piece of satire was well received.  'The dark angsty protest song which everyone needs to hear right now' Amelia Vandergast ' A&R Factory, 'Awe-inspiring lyrical storytelling... fantastic work.'
